Two months old

Nate is more active day by day. He has loved watching his crib mobile and using his swing for a few weeks now. He only just started enjoying laying on his back to play with this activity "gym" the other day. They all offer the best 15 minutes hands free for Dan and Bernadette!

Born Activist

It's never too early to make a difference. Nate attended his first rally today and joined many others to protest our Governor's budget cuts in eduction.

We have been hit especially hard by these new cuts in Alameda where schools have suffered for decades from the state's unfair funding formula, which has resulted in Alameda schools getting less funding than other comparable school districts. This is due to a budget formula from the state that was in place when the military base was present here. Now that the base has been gone for years, all those children of military personnel are gone and Alameda schools are effected by the decreased enrollment and therefore decreased funding. The formula won't change without a laysuit. Seriously. So we are constantly dredging for money to keep the lights on at our schools. Hence, Nate will be a natural activist for community and education rights.

Nate teaches about opposites

Nate has taught us about opposites: awake/ asleep, hungry/full, dry diaper/wet diaper.

Here is happy then immediatly sad. This happens when one of the other opposites is about to occur!

Growling Bear

Dan loves this outfit.
Figure out how Nate can make the bear growl!
